These washable cotton cloth masks are handmade in the UK using 100% cotton batik fabric (from Africa, Ghana). They have been priced at ‘cost’ with an additional 25% markup added, which will all be donated to one of the funding campaigns listed on the BLACK LIVES MATTER (UK) website… as of October 30th 2020 the donation page to BLMUK has closed so I will now be taking action as mentioned above.

I want to give back to my community and help contribute in moving towards an inclusive society where all of humanity, black and brown is respected. I stand for racial equality and peace and have been devastated by happenings of racism in the world. This project is very close to my heart…Black lives matter and have always mattered.

Handmade Ghanaian Adinkra Batik has been used to make these masks. Adinkra was traditionally made for African royalty. The pattern in this fabric is the Adinkra symbol of 'Bi Nka Bi' in the local language it is an exhortation to live in peace and harmony.

All masks are not-for-profit.

The lining is a plain black cotton that also provides a pocket for those wishing to use their own filer fabric in-between layers.
